How it all began
I started taking photos because I was scared of forgetting. My husband was deploying, we were welcoming babies, moving, and finding our way through one transition after another. Life kept changing, and I wanted to remember how it felt along the way. The way home felt in each season. The people I loved in ordinary moments. The little habits and routines I didn’t yet know I would miss. Photography became my way of holding on to those pieces of our life and it’s why I want to help you remember yours..

My promise to you

I know family sessions can feel overwhelming, with outfits to coordinate, little ones’ hair to brush, and sometimes a spouse who needs a little convincing, all while you’re hoping everything comes together just right.
But after 17 years behind the camera, I’ve found that the most meaningful photographs come from the moments you couldn’t have planned, from the cuddles between pictures and the laughter when someone gets silly, to the way your family moves together and naturally shares their love. My role is to gently guide you, help you feel comfortable, and give you room to be yourselves, knowing you’ve already brought the part that matters most: each other.
Kind Words from my clients
Usually, I overthink being in photos, but this felt easy from the beginning. Our kids didn’t sit still for more than a second, and somehow those ended up being some of my favorite images in the whole gallery. Everything felt natural, relaxed, and completely like us. Seeing the photos afterward made me realize how many beautiful little moments happen in the middle of the chaos.

There are so many small moments in our gallery that I didn’t even realize Kaylley was noticing at the time. Looking through the photos now feels so personal because they really remind us of what life felt like back then. What makes these photos even more meaningful is knowing that the little things we once thought were ordinary ended up becoming the memories we treasure most.

Things you need to know about me
The quiet moments usually mean the most.

I’d rather your photos feel natural than perfectly posed.

My Favorite things
My greatest joys are my seven children, including my little boy, Amos, in heaven, whose photographs I will always cherish. Being their mom is such a meaningful part of who I am, and those images remind me how precious it is to have something we can hold on to.
I also love a warm cup of coffee in the morning, crisp fall air with a breeze through the trees, and the feeling of driving a manual transmission, a little joy I’ll never outgrow
A photo project over the next year
Year of Noticing
I’m beginning a year-long photography project, making one meaningful photograph each week of the life happening around me, with a few words about why I wanted to remember it.
I want to pay closer attention to my own family, to the morning routines, the way my children play together, the changing light in our home, and the little details that feel so familiar now but won’t always stay the same. I want to be in some of those photographs, too, so my children can look back and see me there with them.
After 52 weeks, I’ll bring the photographs and words together in a book, a little piece of our family’s history that we can hold, revisit, and someday pass along.
Something you might not expect
I spent a year and a half running a psychiatric hospital before it unexpectedly closed, an experience that deeply shaped the way I see people. It reminded me how much beauty there is in each person, including those facing mental health struggles, homelessness, or a difficult season of life, and how important it is to meet people with compassion and take the time to see who they are.
